i remember reading an article about two years ago where a megachurch pastor presented the idea that it was the duty of the pastor "to hit homeruns every week" and therefore it was irresponsible and arrogant NOT to use other people's material.
ReplyDeletei don't know if i feel more sorry for the congregation or the pastor who has chosen to neglect the personal study.
I think pastor's definitely feel the pressure to 'hit homeruns' every week - and I think that has been in part because of big ego's, and the dreaded 'consumerism' attitude that has overrun the church.
