I know church music volume can be a huge issue for some - and many folks fail to realize the measures many churches go to in order to keep their sound in check. But this complaint goes beyond the walls of the church and actually comes from a neighbor who lives across the street from the church. If what he says is true - this is pretty ridiculous.
Love thy neighbors ears?
Yikes! I read the article (and some of the comments too). I live in the parsonage, which is next door to the church. Anytime someone is playing music or an instrument I can hear it inside my house with the doors and windows closed. We're in a housing neighborhood. Last year the city refused to let us use an adjacent vacant field for overflow parking because one neighbor put up a fit. I wonder what the city will do if he complains about the music? LOL Thanks for sharing. I'll show it to my husband. :) ~Sharon~
ReplyDeleteHopefully the police won't come busting into your worship service and shake down your pastor! ;^)
ReplyDeleteWe tend to rock the house PE, wonder if we can get sued??? You know, my friend's husband is a pastor at a church where they don't "believe in musical worship". Sounds kinda boring to me.
ReplyDeleteI think we're safe because I don't think people can hear us in their homes across the street with windows and doors shut! ;^)
ReplyDeleteMaybe that should be our new goal then...
ReplyDeletePrecisely why we podcast!
ReplyDeleteBro. Eric,
ReplyDeleteCould you send me an email, please? I know I have yours, but I don't have it identified as yours. Make sense? :0) ahoosierfamily at gmail dot com Thanks!
